4 DIY Masks with everyday items

With everything that’s going on in the world right now, it’s important to take care of your body and skin. The hard thing for many people is that we cannot easily go and get the things that we need like we used to. Cooking has turned into using the ingredients you have around your house, so why doesn’t beauty as well? You have all heard of those masks that you can make with things from your home, but have you ever tried them? Well now is the time! I have put together a list of 4 different exfoliating beauty masks that you can make with ingredients that you have on hand in your home.

Coffee & Honey: Not only does this one smell amazing, but it has so many great benefits for your skin. The texture of the coffee is great for exfoliating your skin, while the caffeine reduces puffiness. Honey is amazing for acne prone or combination skin. With its antibacterial properties, honey opens up your pores to cleanse them from dirt, oil, and especially   blackheads. Honey is also very hydrating for your skin which will overall result in a clearer complexion.

3 Tbsp Coffee Grounds

½ Tsp Honey

1 Tbsp Water

Mix all of the ingredients well, apply the paste to your face and wait 10-15 minutes. Wash off in circular motions with warm water.

Baking Soda & Water: Since this mask is technically only one ingredient, it should be a pretty easy one to make at home. Baking soda surprisingly has many great benefits for your skin. Not only is it a great exfoliator, but it helps to shrink the size of your pores which helps dirt and oil from getting trapped in there and causing breakouts. The antibacterial properties in baking soda help to reduce the reoccurrence of acne. This mixture works even better after being in the refrigerator for a little while.

1 Tbsp Baking Soda

Glass or Bottle of Water

Mix the baking soda into the water, apply the paste to your face and wait 2-5 minutes. Wash off with warm water.

Honey & Yogurt: We have already learned about all the amazing benefits that honey has for your skin, so let’s talk about yogurt! Yogurt has countless benefits for your skin, as well as your hair. Yogurt moisturizes and brightens your skin, the lactic acid in yogurt helps to reduce wrinkles and fine lines, the zinc and lactic acid help to fight acne as well as help with pigmentation, and the anti-inflammatory properties of yogurt help to reduce puffiness and dark circles.

1 Tbsp Raw Honey

2 Tbsp Unflavoured Yogurt

Mix both of the ingredients well, apply the paste to your face and wait 10-15 minutes. Wash off with warm water.

Oatmeal & Honey: This homemade facemask is great for sensitive skin. Honey as we already know is great for acne prone skin and can help gently cleanse your pores from dirt and oil. Oatmeal has more benefits than just being an exfoliant. Its anti-inflammatory properties help to remove dry skin and dead skin cells, resulting in a clearer complexion. Oats contain a natural cleanser named saponins, which are great for removing the dirt and oil that clog your pores.

3 Tbsp Ground Oatmeal

1 Tbsp Raw Honey

Mix honey and ground oats until well combined. Rub this mixture on your face, wait for 5-10 minutes and then wash off with warm water.
