Every so often, guys decide that they all must wear the exact same shirt. Like, if they don’t, they lose their guy card or something.
A few years ago, it was a J. Crew blue gingham shirt. The trend was noticed and made famous by Instagram account @thatjcrewginghamshirt. Your guy probably has it in his closet.
Well, I’m here to tell you that that shirt, and blue gingham, is still hot. Jump on that trend train ladies and give it a woot woot!
I styled this outfit when I was 6 months pregnant. If you’re not sure what pattern can work for a pregnant body, gingham is a safe, traditional one that will work for most everyone. People will tell you to wear black and neutrals to slim and hide that baby bump. Don’t be scared of patterns! Everyone can wear them and it can really add a pop of interest to a typically limited maternity wardrobe.
This gingham dress is one that can also really be dressed up, though I went for a work look (though I wasn’t doing much heavy lifting at 6 months preggo!). I paired it with Timberland boots to give the look a rugged edge and pop of colour and a classic denim jacket.
To keep the look from being too casual, I added some glam accessories to round off the outfit.
Basically, you can’t go wrong with gingham. Let’s claim the official shirt of boyfriends for ourselves and glam it up, ladies!
